Abstract:Application of elemental sulphur can help overcome the inherent difficulties of heathland restoration on pasture, i.e. high nutrient and pH levels. This can successfully restore heather, but what about the rest of the ecosystem? This work suggests that the soil microbial community and key ecosystem function may also be restored.
