Abstract:

This paper draws on course-materials and data from assessment-portfolios of Undergraduate students of film-directing, both prior to and in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, to demonstrate how students have had to re-center the relevance of previsualization in their filmmaking processes. Prior to the pandemic, priority was often placed the logistical aspects of production. This paper will show how the re-centering of previsualization during preproduction has enriched students’ critical and innovative film-practice, and enhanced their employability
