Abstract:This chapter will examine the centrality of student voice in shaping a high-quality learning experience, while also questioning how its role is framed through regulatory compliance. The Office for Students (OfS) requires student engagement, yet this often risks reducing student voice to a procedural exercise rather than fostering genuine partnership and co-creation. Against this backdrop, the chapter will consider how Peer Review of Educational Practice (PREP) can amplify student perspectives by surfacing good practice and enhancing the educational experience. Thurston and Holley will suggest that Peer Observation of Teaching (POT), when informed by student voice, offers a meaningful way to reconcile regulatory expectations with authentic quality enhancement.
