Biography

I joined Bournemouth University in 2026 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate on the Leverhulme-funded project Media Representations of Disability, working alongside PI Catalin Brylla, Co-I Dan Jackson, Co-I Geoff Haddock and Co-I Miguel Ramos. The project explores how mainstream media representations can shape audience attitudes towards disability, with a particular focus on reducing stigma and improving social understanding.

My research sits at the intersection of film and media studies, audiovisual translation, and media accessibility. I completed a PhD in Translation Studies at University of Nottingham, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council through the Midlands4Cities Doctoral Training Partnership. My doctoral research examined subtitling in francophone cinema, focusing on the ways subtitles participate in processes of identity construction and power relations.
