Biography
Maryam Malekian is a postgraduate researcher in maternal and women’s health and a Research Assistant at Bournemouth University’s Centre for Midwifery and Women’s Health. With a background in midwifery, she has a particular interest in advancing evidence-based and inclusive care for women, babies, and families. She completed an MRes in Health and Social Sciences, focusing on breastfeeding knowledge and attitudes, and her current research examines early labour guidance across maternity services in the UK. She contributes to multidisciplinary research projects, impact case studies, conference presentations, and academic publications.

Research Interests: Maternity and women’s health; breastfeeding and infant feeding; early labour and intrapartum care; maternal nutrition; equity and inclusion in maternity care; disability and maternity care; evidence-based and co-produced maternity care; women’s experiences and outcomes
