Biography
Ms Wonu Wasila Okunnu is a postgraduate researcher and lecturer at the Department of Humanities and Law, Faculty of Media and Communication. She is the Chairperson of The W²O Foundation, a non-profit organisation which she established in 2022 to improve the lives of Nigerians, serving as a bridge between the governments and her citizen.
Wonu's career path and work experience from inception has been a mix of private and public sectors. Ms Okunnu has worked in several capacities as a political appointee with the benefit of holding a B.Sc in Industrial and labour relations, and an Advanced Diploma in Protocol and passages from the University of Lagos Nigeria. MA in international relations and Democratic Politics from the The University of Westminster London. Her research interest includes Religion & Politics, Women, and political literacy level in the African context. She is a Member of Political Studies Association, London. Ms Okunnu Served at Arochukwu local government in Abia state during her Youth Service Corp, Worked in Nigerian Breweries Iganmu, Lagos as a Human resource officer.
In 2012, Ms Okunnu was appointed as a Supervisory Councillor on Market & Revenue matters in Coker Aguda LGA. She was Deputy Director Youth initiative\ Head of the External Affairs of 'I am Ready' Campaign at the Buhari Osinbajo campaign organisation. She is also the C.E.O of Fabelhaft Island Ltd. In 2016 She Joined Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu as one of his aides.
Ms Wonu Wasila Okunnu has had humanity imbibed, and contributed enormously. She is the President of the British Redcross Society, on Campus at Bournemouth University, England.
Ms Okunnu is a lover of good music and a practising Devoted Muslim, a member of Ansar ud deen Society Nigeria.
