Biography

Dr Laura Bastianini is a Lecturer in Ecology and Environmental Sustainability at Bournemouth University, specialising in environmental geochemistry, carbon dioxide removal and sustainable environmental solutions.

Her research explores mineral–water interactions and their applications in climate change mitigation, carbon sequestration, soil remediation and ecosystem restoration. She has over ten years of international research experience, combining experimental geochemistry, field investigations and geochemical modelling to address complex environmental challenges.

Laura is a Fellow of the Durham Institute of Research, Development, and Invention (FDIRDI), an interdisciplinary research community dedicated to advancing scientific research, knowledge exchange and intellectual collaboration. She is also a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA), recognising her commitment to teaching and learning in higher education.

Alongside her role at Bournemouth University, Laura maintains a research affiliation as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Glasgow, supporting continued academic collaboration in environmental geochemistry and sustainable carbon dioxide removal technologies...
