Biography

I am a Principal Academic in Journalism at Bournemouth University, where I teach and lead modules such as Writing for the Media, Documentary Journalism, Media and Marketing Research, Race, Media and Inequality, Radio Station Management, and Activism and Communication. My teaching experience spans multiple higher education institutions in both India and the UK, including the University of Pune, University of West London, Solent University, and Northampton University, bringing an international and interdisciplinary perspective to my academic practice.

My research focuses on community and participatory radio, media and migration, diasporic storytelling, and alternative media histories in multicultural societies. I am committed to community-participatory approaches, having led projects such as Once Upon a Time in Ukraine: Mobile Storytelling with Ukrainian Migrants and citizen journalism workshops in the UK and India.

My doctoral research on British Asian radio broadcasting culminated in a widely cited monograph, The Evolution of British Asian Radio in England (Springer Nature, 2023), alongside publications in Media History, Journal of Radio & Audio Media, and chapters in The Handbook of Radio (Bloomsbury) and other edited volumes...
