Biography

Associate Professor Michele Board PhD MSc BSc (Hons) DPSN RGN

Dr Michele Board is an Associate Professor in Nursing Older People at the Faculty of Health and Social Science at Bournemouth University. She is the Deputy Head of the Department of Nursing Studies. She has extensive experience in nursing, nurse leadership and nurse education.

Michele is the co-lead for the Ageing and Dementia Research Centre at Bournemouth University.

Research interests are in the field of nursing older people, especially frailty and people with dementia. As a qualitative researcher she looks to use creative approaches to collect and present research data. She has developed and evaluated dementia education resources, including developing simulation education including Virtual Reality (VR). Current work is looking at marginalised groups living with dementia, specifically veterans and those from a South Asian background.
