Biography
I am a composer, sound artist, and academic exploring the intersections of music, sound, technology, and storytelling. My work focuses on how sound shapes perception, space, and memory, drawing from electroacoustic composition, spatial audio, and acousmatic storytelling.
I am Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Music and Sound Production at Bournemouth University, where I also teach across Music and Media Production programmes. My teaching focuses on music creation, sound design, and sound in space, informed by practice-led research and a student-centred approach.
I studied Music Informatics at the Ionian University (Greece), completed a MusM in Electroacoustic Composition and Interactive Media at the University of Manchester, and earned a PhD in Music, Technology and Innovation from De Montfort University.
Research
My research and creative practice engage with a range of interdisciplinary areas, including:
- Composition using recorded urban sound sources and digital signal processing (DSP)
- Narrative and storytelling in music, particularly within acousmatic and electroacoustic traditions
- Acoustic ecology and the relationship between sound, environment, and listening practices
- The creative use of archival audio and oral history materials in sound-based artworks
- Interactive and site-specific sound installations
- Analytical approaches to sound and music in audio-visual media, including video games
- Pedagogical strategies in music technology and sound-based education
