Biography

Emma Lucas is an Academic Lecturer and Programme Lead for the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing programme. As a Registered Nurse, she continues to practice in NHS 111 telephone triage, ensuring her teaching remains closely connected to real-world clinical practice. She has advanced her nursing skills across various practice areas, including Cardiology, Community, Palliative Care, and Urgent and Emergency Care.

Before moving into academia, Emma worked as a Clinical Shift Manager for the NHS 111 ambulance service, where she provided clinical oversight, ensured safe and effective patient care, and mentored staff in decision-making and leadership.

She is committed to fostering a compassionate and inclusive healthcare culture, where civility, respect, and openness are at the heart of practice. Her leadership experience shapes her educational approach, creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment for students.
