Biography

Mayank completed his PhD in Tribology with Professor Mark Hadfield at Bournemouth University. He studied lubricant degradation mechanisms, associated wear of engine components and the use of ionic fluids as tribological performance improving additives in used engine lubricants. During his research, Mayank worked with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, University of Oviedo (Spain) and BP Marine Lubricants Technology Centre. He completed his BEng Hons degree in Aero-Mechanical Engineering with First Class from the University of Strathclyde.

Mayank has industrial work experience as Research Tribologist with Daido Metal’s European Technical Centre (Ilminster). He worked on multiple research projects involving research and development of advanced materials for various types of bearings used in automotive, power generation and marine applications. He was Tribology Team Leader and worked internally with production, engineering and R&D groups of Daido and externally with various research organisations...
